For my music studio application, it is important that the iPad not deplete its battery in the middle of a session, so I need it to be continually connected to power. Also, because I am using its Bluetooth for WIDI- control purposes, I need to get the audio out from the USB-C port, because these new iDevices no longer have phone jacks. I thought it would be a simple process to find an adapter that passed through the audio from the USB port and also allowed the iPad to be plugged into a charger. Looking for such a device on Bolo, I found that almost all of the offerings had negative reviews that suggested that they could not simultaneously allow charging while passing audio, or that when a charger was connected the audio was seriously distorted. I purchased this UGreen adapter on the hunch that it would work as advertised. To my complete satisfaction, this adapter happily charged the iPad when connected to an Anker 30W wall-plug power supply, while it simultaneously provided pristine stereo audio to my audio interface (and DAW). So, if you have a modern Apple iDevice with a USB-C jack, this item WILL work for you.

Moving from a Samsung Galaxy S8 cellphone (works great but out of storage) with a physical 3.5 mm jack to a Samsung Galaxy S25 with ... no jack. Don't have the S25 yet so tested this adapter on my S8. Sounds fantastic - the phone's 3.5mm connection always sounded very good but this USB adapter opens up the sound and soundstage. It is also 4-6 dB louder at a given volume setting - not needed for my Shure SE215 in-ears (17 ohms), but very welcome for my Sennheiser HD570s with their 64 ohm impedance. Also worked well with Bose QC 35 (400 ohms?).The microphone and controls (vol up/down; pause; next track) on the Shure SE215 worked perfectly when connected through this adapter. I'm very pleased with the adapter and would recommend it.My phone indicated it was fast-charging when I used my Samsung AFC (fast charge) 25 watt adapter. There was no audible noise, hiss, or hum at any point in the earphones whether charging or not. The phone's cellular / data / BT / wireless were all enabled.

Aside from a slight difference in volume (it's a little quieter when connected to the AUX port in my car, which isnt an issue), it works pretty well. I've experienced no feedback or hum. Plugging and unplugging is easy, and it's a stable connection amd not flimsy in the port on my phone (I have a Samsung Galaxy). Good purchase!

This dongle works great if you're just using it for wired headphones. If you try to charge while using headphones, you get all kinds of audio interference. Cracking, buzzing, and popping. I think it may have something to do with the magnets that hold the two adapters together. Totally unacceptable and unlistenable. Got another dongle that works fine while both charging and listening. Good idea, but it doesn't work. Don't buy this one. I will probably never use it again. Waste of money.

This is an interesting example of a dongle that was designed for a particular use. As it allows charging it is perfect for road trips when you want to listen to music and use waze, google maps or other programs that consume battery life. It is well-built and designed--it's neat when it snaps together! It feels robust and high-quality, especially for the price.These measurements were taken with a Google Pixel 6A as the source. (As it is not isolated the results are of the dongle + source, but it represents real world use.) I measured max output voltage at 1V.These results are comparable to the celebrated Apple USB-C dongle. However you don't want to use that in a car! It's not state of the art but is it no slouch either. Cars are so noisy that these results go to waste but rest assured that even at home these will not color your music.In all, a very good dongle in 2024 and an excellent one for car use.

Good volume
I bought this for when my bluetooth headphones eventually break on my phone, but I've been using it lostly on my macbook and it works great. Feels very solid was a bit bigger than I thought it would be.
