It was a gift

I ordered this pen because I liked the body style, but I knew likely enough that I would ultimately want to replace the refill with one of my Parker gel refills.I gave the default one a shot, and it was fine. The color was good, ink flow was steady and it had no issue with keeping up with my fast writing pace. But ultimately it was just an average experience, and I missed the fullness that the gel refills provided.So I went to put one of my Parker refills. Everything seemed fine at first, it looked near identical to the refill it came with. But for some reason, the twisting mechanism would not retract the Parker refill. I tried everything, thinking I must have messed something up but nothing seemed wrong. I then switched back to the refill it came with and it worked fine... Weird. So I tried a different Parker, and still the same issue. "Okay, maybe it's a Parker thing?" I thought. So I tried a Faber-Castell, same problem. Then I tried another generic refill, same issue. It ONLY worked with the one it came with.So if you're getting this with the intention of swapping inks, I would say don't. Unless of course mine was some weird exception, and all the others accept universal refills.I was really disappointed with this pen. Such a shame.

I'm one of those people that takes a lot of notes while I work (R&D), so I am always on the lookout for good pens. I saw this one and was intrigued since it had an attractive appearance and was refillable with ink refills I have easy access to. The pen comes in an attractive box that could be wrapped and given as a gift to a boss, parent, etc. The pen has a nice, heavy feel, but isn't bulky. I would like some more defined tactile limit points when you twist it to extend the point since I often over twist it if not careful.Historically, I have used a lot of gel pens and standards that get messy, but I have yet to have any problems with the ink smearing. The blue works as well as the black, but most of the work specifically requires black ink, so I don't really use the blue. The main issue I have with this pen is that I should have gotten one of the colors other than all black. My desktop is black and if I don't have my desk light on, it blends into the desktop extremely well. I didn't think of that ahead of time, but not an issue of the pen, just me. Overall, it is a nice, well-made pen that I would easily recommend.

I use this to wright in my journal and its very smooth and lasts a very long time i have written a lot on my journal and its still going. I like that it has some weight to it witch i like it feels very even in the hand.

It's a nice pen set. Comes with black ink inside and an additional black and blue refill cartridge. The pen looks sleek. I got the all black pen and I feel it looks stylish. There is a decent heft to the pen. You can tell it's made of metal. The ink applies uniform at a medium weight. For the price, it's definitely a nice writing instrument. You could go out and buy one of the big name brands, but this will work the same and look just as nice and in the off chance you lose it, you aren't out that much money.

This pen looks great and feels good in the hand. It has nice presentation, but I wish they hadn't wrapped the pen in plastic in the gift box because it cheapens the impression if you're giving it as a gift. When you get it, you open the outer box, slide out the gift box, raise the gift box lid and the pen is there under a ribbon as you see in the first picture on the product page here BUT the pen is in a plastic bag under the ribbon, which just looks cheap. If you're giving it as a gift, I would suggest pre-opening, removing that bag and clipping the pen to the ribbon slightly as in the picture on the product page. Makes a MUCH better impression that way. Finally, below the pen, you can lift up the bed it's on and the refill is below that. Overall nice pen, just falls a little short on presentation, but that's fixable before you give it as long as you're aware.
A very nice pen
Visually this pen looks great it also feels great as well. I don't know if it's real gold but I trust it's gold plated as gold plating is inexpensive and for this price I thing it's fair.This is a ballpoint pen, so if you really like ballpoint pens you'll probably be happy with this one. I'm left handed and always have issues with ink smearing especially on inferior pens, and most gel pens. The ink in this pens dries really fast, not as fast as other ballpoint I've tried but fast enough for minimal smearing. It writes pretty smooth, I would compare it to a bic ballpoint, just obviously much nicer looking.It comes with 1 extra black refill as well as a blue refill which is great. The refill are steal and are branded the same as the pen, so there is attention to detail there.
Très beau produit
Smooth, but butt-heavy.
I'll admit, I really like the look of the black-on-black. Very sleek and elegant. The presentation leaves much to be desired though with the cheap faux-leather box and elemental stab at luxury. I really like that they included 2 refills though, something that other brands rarely do.As for the pen itself, it writes smoothly enough, with no inky or gel-like residue on the paper, nor on the ball point. It's not a super-fine tip of course, but more in the medium range. The clip on the back also has the perfect amount of resistance so it's not a pain taking it out or putting it back into a pocket. Twisting the tip in and out is smooth but not consistent, as the first turn loads the tip internally and pauses before the big reveal. It's more smooth on the way back in. But the action is still comfortable and can give the impression of a more expensive piece.The biggest problem I find with the pen is that it's not balanced very well. Even though the metallic reservoir is set correctly on the inside near the very middle of the core, the butt is still quite heavy and creates a slight imbalance when writing. Butt-heavy pens tend to draw the tip upwards on the paper, requiring more inward finger pressure to keep the tip under control. For brief verses it's usually not a problem, but for longer sessions it can become tiring. And I've use a LOT of pens over the years. Believe me, if all you're use to are standard Bic, PaperMate or Pilot pens, this will be an adjustment. But of course, when it comes to an accessory such as this, sometimes the look can be more important than the performance. My advice - ditch the cheap box and store the refills. The pen is nice enough on its own. And if you do have to write with it now and again, make it short. It's a 3.5/5 for me.
Nice pen but not worth $35 CAD
Don’t get me wrong this is a very nice pen. Has good weight and nice to write with. Comes with black ink and has a spare black and blue in cartridge. So technically you get 3 pens worth of ink of this purchase.However, for the price I wouldn’t say this totally worth it as I have many “fancy” pens that businesses give away for free that are also all metal, look nice and have good weight which were free to me and cost probably $2-5 for companies to buy as promotional products.If this pen was priced closer to the $20 I’d give it 5 stars all day long.
