These mini ball heads work great for this application. Fully adjustable and lock down tight. I wouldn't use for really heavy equipment, but this use is perfect.

For $10 USD (at time of purchase) there really is no way you could go wrong with this little ball head from ULANZI.I needed a camera mount for this old mini tripod from a DJI gimbal and this little head works like a charm.It's almost as if it were made for this tripod! Fits it perfectly and has no problem holding the weight of my Nikon D3300 DSLR. It even comes with a little shoe mount for expanded capabilities.The action of the ball isn't what I'd call "butter smooth", but I didn't expect it with a $10 item.I'm actually surprised it's mostly metal, aside from the red rubber grip and the plastic thumb screw grip.Leonard would say "this is a definite buy!"
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little ball head for your smart phone or small point and shoot.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a small ball head that I could use with my iPhone. My specs were, be small for traveling, be sturdy, have separate locks for pan and tilt, and be a good value. This little ball head met all the requirements, exceeded my expectations. It came with a dual thumb screw cold-shoe adapter so I can mount my Lumecube mini on top of my phone holder. I can lock my phone at a fixed angle, and leave the pan axis and still manually slew/pan in azimuth to shoot panoramas or pan while shooting a video. The price was very fair for this ball head, which is well built with fine fit and finish, and I couldn’t be more pleased. By the way, this is not a fluid head like larger units, but their is a mild resistance when panning that was a surprise. It allows you to just push one end of the phone and smoothly pan without feeling loose or jerking. What a little gem.

I knew this was the right one. Then it sold out on Bolo. So happy they got more with the same quality. I use this with a Sony pocket camera and also with an ultra portable projector, tabletop speakers, monopod, etc. 25mm equals one inch. This has a 28mm ball head. The weight capacity is 6 pounds. If you’re using full size DSLRs or long lenses, I would buy something bigger to handle the total gear weight. The knobs and adjustments on this Ulanzi are smooth. The settings grip tight without slipping or loosening. The price is affordable. Instead of a cup of coffee, I added this to my camera gear.

High quality product.First assembly was a breeze and was also very straightforward.Holds very nicely with zero play, even when using an iPhone 15 Pro Max mounted on the Ulanzi MagSafe magnet attachment (I can’t confirm whether it holds well using an iPhone 14 Pro Max however (as they are heftier).This mount is very sturdy and very handy, especially when you combine it with the MagSafe Magnet attachment 👍

I have my Osbot web cam mounted to this little adapter. The adapter is mounted to a desktop microphone stand. This is a perfect setup for my Zoom meetings and video creation. It takes up very little space. Ascetically, the mount looks great and matches the webcam and the mic stand. More importantly, the surface this sits on is not level. Very easy to adjust the webcam so it is level. I was looking for a high quality easy to use adapter. I’ve tried several and like this one the best. Strongly recommended!

A top-notch ball head adaptor
This is a great little ball-head adaptor that is sturdily built. The 1/4 inch threads were an issue because they were nowhere near the 3/8 and 5/8 threads on my mic boom or microphone bottom. I bought an excellent set of AEIX 8pcs Mic adaptors to solve the problem. I am totally happy with the quality and strength of this ULANZI adaptor. I've purchased several ULANZI products in the past few weeks, and all of them seem to be very well-built. I recommend this strong ball head to everyone!
