(function(){ P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function'){ A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })() I've used this test twice now and have had a great experience both times.Herpes is a very common virus and unfortunately has a stigma to it (undeserved!). Herpes Simplex Virus has two types HSV1 and HSV2. This test only tests for HSV2.If you're worried about being exposed to herpes or that you've contracted it, please do your research. There are some great people on a site call H Opportunity. Tons of useful info and always someone available to talk to.I was exposed to HSV2 from a partner. As far as I know I have not contracted it. I'm testing every month or so until 4 month post exposure, to hopefully find out my body isnt making antibodies against HSV2. That's the way this test works. There is no test to test for the virus itself. This test looks for the antibodies your body makes against the virus. So, you have to give your body time to make the antibodies before using this test. If you have signs of an outbreak and are unsure if it is HSV- go to the Dr and get the sore/lesion swab tested (most accurate test you can get).So far I have tested twice using my labbox. The most recent time, I stupidly sent my sample the day after Christmas. This time of year is terrible for mail and shipping times. The lab receive my sample on Monday 12/30. I just knew I was going to be worried about it all week and nervously checking the website waiting for results. To my surprise, my results were posted late afternoon 12/31!! This was way faster turnaround time than I was expecting and for it to be that quick on a holiday week... unheard of!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great way to test at home!
I work in healthcare and am always worried about exposure and figured I would take this test just for peace of mind. It is a great way to get tested without having to go to the doctors. It is just a simple finger prick that does not hurt. I love how discreet and simple this test is. It is easy to register and everything is included to collect and ship it out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and easy
This Product was easy to use and provides you with all of the instructions. Once you collect blood sample and send it back in the provided envelope, it takes about a week and would you get a email about your results. You can also request to speak to someone to discuss your results.
1.0 out of 5 stars This test feels as if it's a scam
After 4 weeks of waiting for results all they can come up with is Equivocal. This is supposed to be a professional laboratory. Yet they could not provide results to be positive or negative. After many requests for results and the upmost disregard for for customer satisfaction all I am able to do is leave a comment. I jave requested a refund and they will not hear it having produced no results. This is a stressful waist of time and money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to do, took about a week for results
This was very easy to do. The hardest part was just pricking my finger twice to bleed enough to cover a few little circles. The return postage was on the prelabeled bag. Instructions were simple and easy to follow. I registered my box, pricked my finger and collected a few drops, then put it in the bag to go in the morning mail. One week later, I got an email my results were ready. The results will say positive or negative. However if you want the lab information and more details, you can download a pdf lab results. That has lab info, reference values, type of test, ect. It's very private and very easy. Everything is provided, except an ink pen.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use while maintaining your privacy
I ordered this test for someone in my family who thought they might have been exposed to Hepatitis C by accident, but since they were very unsure they wanted to do the test themselves instead of see their doctor. Fortunately their result was negative, so they were very relieved. Privacy is the main advantage to tests like these offered by myLAB. Even if you pay a little more by not seeing your doctor (Since a test at the doctor's office might be covered by your insurance), it's worth it to be able to do an initial screening this way for any possible health problems you think you might have. if the results are negative then you don't need to talk to anyone. If the results are positive then you can decide to see your doctor for a follow-up appointment. But at least then you will be prepared for what comes next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Are mail order tests reliable?
It is always wisest to contact your physician first before trying any mail order test. However, one advantage to those from myLAB Box is that they are completely confidential and there are many reasons for keeping some information private from your permanent health records.I had this type of self-submit test recently and it was recommended by my doctor and part of routine screening. It was reliable and hassle free. Thus, it is generally a positive trend that mail order testing is coming of age. MyLAB Box specializes in sexual health and other related tests. I am personally confident in the reliability of the results.
