Ok the reviews about it not turning on. The first time it powers on you have to cick the on button a few times and it will turn on. This radio is ok for a boat that is used on the lake then stored in a garage. It's water resistant for light right. But if you leave your boat outside for a few rain storms, you will get water inside the screen. It doesn't seem to mess with the performance just the screen.

It's only been installed a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to longevity. But for $60ish dollars, it's a great unit.Receiver is well worth the price by itself - the speakers are fairly meh but it's hard to be too judgmental given the price point. I was replacing some 15 year old Kenworths which were blown and weather beaten all the hell - well, as it happens, they still sounded better with the new receiver than the new ones do. Slight bummer there. But, really, it's unfair to expect a $60 radio & speaker set to sound like a speaker that costs $30-40 by itself. And the included speakers work just fine.I suspect the unit is not very water proof - luckily I already had a weathertight cover that closes securely over the receiver from the old unit. I would strongly recommend getting one as it is not included in the kit and if the radio is exposed to the elements, I have little doubt it would die almost instantly. If it is mounted into some sort of cabinet, I assume it would be fine.The remote is a nice touch. I thought it silly at first but as it happens, it makes it much easier to adjust the radio without having to pop open the weather proof cover.

If I wouldn’t have already cut the holes and tan wiring for this entire unit in my biat I’d be buying something different. Unfortunately I’m stuck with this unit and set up. This is now the third one I’m receiving in a matter of just under 2 months, once you get everything hooked up and working it’ll turn on for the first couple days then the screen won’t turn on anymore. Screen has been faulty on both units. We will see if the third will work. Would not recommend. Pay attention to these one star reviews.

Yes it is waterproof..the speakers suck. Plain and simple. But the actual radio has a lot of great features... installed on my golf cart. Will need to upgrade the speakers tho. Terrible sound quality

The waterproof radio is what we wanted this radio for mostly. But for small speakers it is very good sound. We have a rag top and drive without doors so the road noise is loud but the radio is just right. Price was really nice. We had all the parts to install and wire it up. And I love the white system instead of a black stereo. Great find and two thumbs up!!
