I had a severe flare of IBS and my Dr recommended this product. I was skeptical. I already take a very expensive pro-biotic. I am surprised and delighted that this helped me. It does not work overnight. It took a few months. I would say my Colon is now in much better shape than before the IBS flare which is saying something! I would even dare to say my colon feels normal at this time with no IBS. Even during my monthly cycle which makes it worse I have not suffered the runs. This is why I give it five stars. Please give this product 6-8 weeks if you have IBS. And I must say there are certain triggers for IBS. Even small amount of regular Vitamin C cause a horrendous flare for me. I learned throughout this ordeal that having a cup of fennel tea really helped relieve the gas and seemed to soothe the cramps. I would take 1 1/2 teaspoons of fennel seeds and grind in my coffee grinder and place in 24 oz of water and simmer for ten minutes. Worked like a charm! Gas-X did not work at all. But now that I have been on Align for two full months I don't need the fennel tea! amazing. A Happy Colon is worth anything. I definitely like the reorder feature to get the lower pricing.UPDATE: Colon still great but the pricing is not!! I stopped the automatic order feature as the price went up and up each month.UPDATE: January 19, 2013. I have been taking this product for a year now and my colon has been stable and IBS free. I am careful to not eat fatty foods which irritate it. It is no longer a huge problem in my life. I would say this is the closest I have had to a normal colon in my lifetime.

I'm in my late 20's and have had diagnosed IBS for almost 10 years now. I've managed to keep it under control on-and-off for most of that time by staying away from fatty foods (particularly late at night), trying to keep my stress level down, and occasionally taking some anti-spasmodic medication. But for the past year or so, I've felt increasing levels of stress and anxiety due to work, relationships, etc. My IBS began to flare up and I was feeling symptoms practically all day long, no matter what I would eat. I started feeling anxious about going out to dinner with family and friends, which of course, only makes the IBS flare up more. The compounding effects of this cycle (plus the fact that my fear and stress about eating made me lose a lot of weight very quickly), eventually became intolerable, and out of desperation, I bought Align.I don't think I've felt this "regular" in 10 years. I feel my confidence about going out to eat (and eating at all) returning, and my anxiety melting away. I've gone almost every day that I've taken the Align probiotic without any IBS symptoms at all. The change is nothing short of miraculous.I know that probiotic supplements don't work for all IBS sufferers (not to mention it's not cheap), but take it from someone who was miserably under IBS's control for almost a decade, it's at least worth a shot! If you're in the position I was in 5 weeks ago- desperately seeking a way to regain something resembling a normal life with healthy digestion- you have almost nothing to lose. Try it! And I really hope it works as well for you as it did for me.

I was very surprised that Bolo had this. I would not have thought I could find it here but Align's web site listed all the people who had it, so I compared prices. Bolo was the cheapest then, I don't know if they will continue. I could have had free shipping too but I didn't order soon enough and needed to continue taking it without a gap. This product has been extremely helpful to me. I have had IBS symptoms for quite some time in my life. And recently I had some major medical problems with my stomach. 11,000 $ plus of fancy testing and we are all left scratching our heads. I was given several align trial packs by a doctor to see if it would make a difference. I started them over spring break so that any side effects (the gas you read about) would not make me miss classes. I'm glad I did because I was so tired that first week. I had a lot of gas and because my body was so weak anyways, I just slept a lot. But I noticed the gas was different!! There were lots of little bubbles as opposed to large pressures building with sudden release. I have now been taking align for several months and have continued to see consistent improvement. There were a couple instantaneous changes like the gas, but you really have to stick with this product. I have more energy now as well. +++ I have only had one time of IBS like symptoms in the last couple months!! My patience paid off. For the price, this is soooo worth it. To be complete, I should say that I also started working out on average 4.5 days a week (when I started I could only do about 6 min on an elliptical), and I take pepcid. I have a lot of nasal allergies and the pepcid I think helps my gut not react... besides being an anti-acid it is an antihistamine. I also take vit D. So, that is my complete set up. I was doing everything except the Align, for a month before starting it with a little improvement. I feel like my improvement approximately tripled when I started taking align. I will not cease taking it unless there is a crazy good reason.

Align is an excellent product I’ve been using it for years. The capsules now come in a nice bottle inside the Align box. I’m not sure if they will still make the ones that come in sheets with the days of week. The style of the bottle is small and very easy to open.

Likes- pills aren't big, one a day.Dislike- container.Conclusion- makes me go to the bathroom normally without worries. Idk why they don't use a bottle instead for container, but it would be better than a cardboard box. When i don't have these, bloating commence asap, it sucks because in USA all food makes you bloat.

Really works for IBS
We too bought this - for my husband - after seeing good results on the Food Hospital. It has worked extremely well, gently relieving the symptoms of gas, gut pain, loose tummy and aches/pains. It generally improved his sense of wellbeing. When he stopped taking the capsules, after a month or so, the symptoms gradually returned so it seems a prolonged course of treatment may be required, but that is a small price to pay for such an improvement in health after years of illness and despair.He also tried VSL#3 but, despite its vast amounts of bacteria, it brought little or no relief.
Align for digestive problems
arrived quickly not the cheapest probiotic and i had my doubts as my symptoms got worse for a couple of weeks but kept on and eventually things improved ,just finished the 6 week course and i seem a lot better and will use again if things deteriorate i would definitely recommend .
Take these as part of a healthy lifestyle
Bought just after clinical diagnosis of IBS (and already with a Coeliac diagnosis for several years). I started taking these whilst also introducing other measures to my lifestyle to combat and manage the IBS: chewing food for longer, avoiding chocolate, cutting caffeine, avoiding processed foods, regularly exercising, keeping hydrated, avoiding stressful situations, avoiding exhaustion etc and taking probiotics. So it was difficult to pinpoint any benefit that was down to these probiotics alone - all of the measures have contributed to me leading a normal life with minimal IBS disruption.However, I can say with some confidence that I feel best after taking these. After two or three days I feel more 'settled' and balanced. From my personal experience, and observations of others with similar issues, these probiotics should be taken in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle. I don't think you'll get much use out of them if you continue to trigger IBS from other aspects of your lift.They are a little pricey, though, so 4 stars.
