It was magnetic tape. Only sticks to magnety metals. just like the picture, was white on one side and black on the other. It was magnetic as advertised. Although it says tape, do not expect adhesive, it's not like scotch tape or duct tape or masking tape or painters tape. It's magnetic tape, so it uses mysterious invisible forces to connect itself to certain kinds of metal. It leaves no mark or residue when you remove it from the metal object it mysteriously (magically?) attaches to. You can cut it with a scissors without letting any of the magic leak out of the cut edges! Don't think about it too much or it will just spook you out, just buy it and get to stickin' it to metal stuff.

This was purchased to use on a dry erase board in the office and it was great. Very inexpensive and has more uses than I originally thought. The surface is easy to write on, magnetism is great, very thick and cleans well. The price and quality or a winning combination.

I ordered the 2 inch wide magnetic tape to use as weather stripping around a white metal door we have problems with. It was easy to cut and clings very well to the metal door. I'm thinking a 1 inch width might not have enough surface area to cling as well. I like being able to take it off this summer when I don't need it. I'm very pleased with the product for this use.

Cuts easily, sticks well. Designed for dry erase and smudges more easily than “permanent marker erasable” but easier to clean. I use it for my soundboard that’s why smudging is a problem. Great for shelving, cabinets, steel containers and refrigerator doors

We kept a whiteboard chart of our business transactions, and were constantly erasing lines and writing new ones as transactions closed and we listed new properties. It was a mess. We mounted 2 cheap 2'x4' sheets of steel from Lowes and cut 2' strips of this tape and filled the boards with them. Then we used 1/8" tape to make columns for data and cut the tape between strips. Now we just fill in a strip for each transaction. This lets us move items on the chart and reorder them easily.

If you plan on using these on a whiteboard, don't bother. I tried 3 different cleaners to clean the dry erase marker off the strip. Dry erase cleaner, lens cleaner, soap & water and alcohol. None of them were able to remove the dry erase marker off the strip. I guess I'll order a different brand and see what happens.
