5.0 out of 5 stars Never have to change time again
Best design of an electronic timer. Never have to reset the timer with the time change as it automatically changes by itself. After entering the date, time, and location, the timer has the time of sun rise and sun set programmed in its memory, so you don't have to keep changing the time every few months. Intermatic is a heavy-duty timer with NEMA 1 and NEMA 3R boxes to choose from. I only wish they offered two AAA lithium batteries for memory battery backup. I always install energizer lithium for areas prone to power outages, so the timer keeps its date and time.
5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but does what it's supposed to
I now have a few of these Intermatic astronomic timers, on some lighting as well as a solar water heater control. They work perfectly and have pretty good versatility in terms of programming. Never have to change the on and off times as the seasons change since it knows when sunrise and sunset are. To me they are expensive but the best or only choice I could find to fit the application. I'm surprised they haven't figured out how to make an app-driven configuration setup, which might be easier than the on-screen arrangement. You probably need some basic electrical skills to understand which model you need and how to wire it, for 120/240, single or double pole, etc. Recommend these if you want the astronomic control feature.
5.0 out of 5 stars ET8015C timers - replaced old T101 timers
T101 mechanical timers have been in place for 17 years (wow). These are installed in our clubhouse. Turned on exterior building and parking lot lights. With the constant change in daily sunrise / set times and DST on/off, it was a pain to have to change the timer stops. Someone, like me, on the HOA board would have to adjust all the time. We have mostly seniors and they need a lot of light. Other great thing is the new timers fit exactly in the old enclosure. Someone smart made that happen. So don't need to replace the enclosure. Hope new timers hold up for the next 17 years. Kudo's

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked so well, I bought 2 more
We had 3 different lighting circuits controlled by 3 different manually-adjusted Intermatic time clocks. It was not only a pain to have to reset the on/off times for each clock several times a year, it also wasted electricity because the lights would often be on longer than necessary. These new Astronomic clocks are the PERFECT solution for us! Needed an electrician to install them (had hoped I could simply replace old with new but wiring was different) and programming took some time to figure out but we got it and I haven’t even thought about the clocks since we had them installed.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Industry Standard in Time Clocks
I am an electrician by trade and have wired more than 50 time clocks in my career. Intermatic is the industry standard for time clocks. They are quality built and basic in operation. I'm not even going to go in to low voltage digital time clocks which are almost personal computers these days. Anyway. Is this difficult to wire for your your very first time?? PROBABLY. Once you wire one, these intermatics are pretty much identical. This one is 4 POLES or circuits. So you'll have 10 termination points:Timeclock Power (power & neutral)Poles 1-4 (Line & Load each)Can you use one of the circuits HOT to power the time clock?? ABSOLUTELY.The astronomic programming can be a challenge the first time. Would say not user friendly, but it's like a new Samsung smart phone when you've used IPhones your whole life. Just take your time!! Thanks
1.0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE - FREQUENTLY TRIPPED BREAKER - NOW IT COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING
I bought this to turn a single outdoor lamppost on and off. I installed it by hardwiring it into a dedicated outdoor circuit. It worked perfectly for about a month and a half, but then my previously stable outdoor circuit began to trip its breaker every week or so. I would re-set the breaker and everything would work fine for another week. However, this timer has now been installed for about 3 months and it has COMPLETELY stopped working and FURTHERMORE my entire outdoor circuit now doesn't work. Again, that dedicated outdoor circuit worked perfectly before I installed this horrible device. This timer cost me over $200 and is specifically designed to work outdoors because it came with its own weatherproof box and is temperature-rated to work in extreme temperatures. I had every right to expect this expensive timer to last for decades (I have other indoor hardwired timers from Intermatic that have worked for about 15 years). However, it only lasted about THREE MONTHS before it died and in doing so it has also killed the entire circuit to which it was installed. To add serious insult to grievous injury, Bolo's return window closed 10 days before it completely stopped working. This is outrageous! If I could give it a zero star rating I would, but with the return window closed, apparently all I can do is write this scathing review.SO DO NOT BUY THIS TIMER, IT IS ABSOLUTE JUNK!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This is the second of this product bought to replace some "dumb" timer switches used at our church. We now have the flexibility to have the outside lights on at the unique times our church schedule requires. Especially like the fact that it tracks sunset and sunrise times as well as changes in daylight savings time. We now have the lights coming on when needed, and not coming on in broad daylight because of changes in time or the variation in sunset and sunrise times during the year. Further, the battery back-up avoids the hassle of having to reset the timer switch after power outages. This is such a great improvement over our old "dumb" timer switches. This device was fairly easy to program.
