5.0 out of 5 stars Sacré bleu! My boots look new!
I know you may be looking at this product and wondering if it is worth the price, and I would recommend you stop looking and start buying. This product is exceptionally effective.I’ve had these Ecco leather boots for nearly 10 years now. They’re my favorite boots, and as you can see they’ve been some places. During that 10 years I’ve never once conditioned or polished them. I would just wipe them down when they’d get dirty. You can see in the first two photos how the leather was worn and turning a greenish blue. So I ordered this black Saphir Crème 1925 cream polish, along with the Saphir Renovateur conditioner.I first removed the dirt from the boots with a brush that you’d use for dishes, and then applied the conditioner to the boots with an old but clean rag. I allowed it to soak into the leather and dry for a couple of days, while I was waiting for the polish to arrive. In the meantime I got lucky and found a Kiwi brand horsehair brush at my local Goodwill for $2.99.When the polish arrived, I removed the laces, put on a vinyl glove and grabbed the Kiwi brush, along with a scrap piece of soft cotton tee which is what I use at work to buff and polish freshly installed tile. I wrapped the scrap cotton cloth around my finger, dipped it into the jar of polish, and applied the polish to the boots one small area at a time. Immediately the leather was brought back to life, and I really couldn’t believe how much better it looked it at that point. You could stop there, and be perfectly happy if you prefer a matte finish to your footwear. I really wanted these suckers to shine personally, so after waiting a bit for the polish to dry, I performed the final step in this process and went over them with the Kiwi brush in swift, short strokes. My 10 year old boots now look absolutely beautiful. They still have some scratches that are visible, along with definitive creases in the toe area, but the older guys tell me that’s called character. I wouldn’t call the end result a mirror finish either, but these boots are more for walking and hiking than dancing, so I’m very happy with how they turned out. Merci beaucoup Saphir, votre produit c’est top!
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great on worn leather
Rubbed it into an old purse strap that was looking a bit ragged. Once it was buffed up, it looked fantastic. No nasty odor, easy to use. A bit expensive, but worth it if you have well-loved and worn leather items you don’t want to discard.
5.0 out of 5 stars Polish is a cream polish
I like that this is a cream polish and it doesn't take much to cover a shoe. I applied with a sponge on dress shoes that had not been polished in some time. It goes on really nice and I buffed it with a horse hair brush that I have owned for a long time. Got a nice polish job and it also worked into the leather well. It's a little more pricey than polish that you purchase in a can, but those get old and crack up... I believe this will stay in it's original form for a fairly long time between polishes. I would recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars And I thought I had been using good shoe polish for the last 30 years......ha!
I've been using Kiwi, Lincoln and other shoe polishes for many years because, well, that's what was readily available. I bought this polish on a whim. I figured, oh what the heck, I'll try it out. One word: WOW!This is NOT like all of the other polishes. This polish returns the shoe's leather back to its original softness and gives a luster that is just not matched with Kiwi, Lincoln or the others. It's a deep, glossy, rich, luxurious shine that is noticeably better.I stripped and renovated a 20 year old pair of high-end Johnston-Murphy Aristocraft dress shoes a couple of weeks ago that were looking a bit shop-worn with the Saphir Renomat product and followed up with this polish. WOW!!!The shoes looked like a million bucks! Maybe better than when they were new because they still had a rich patina but looked brand new. Meaning, they looked like the real deal and not like the new shoes that are sprayed with dye to look patina'd and worn.Color me very impressed. I was so pleased with the result that I bought three other colors of this polish and now use it on all of my dress and work shoes. It's THAT good and is worth the extra money because it gives a much better look and is better for expensive shoes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Top Quality
Top quality stuff. Leaves Kiwi in the dust. This is the easiest to use and work with. Cost reflects the quality and no qualms there. Great stuff.
Excelente producto
Una maravilla dejo mis zapatos increíble como nuevos
Absolute Empfehlung!
Ein Spitzenprodukt, sehr gut.
Amazing product
After watching a shoe care video I was surprised to find this product on Bolo. And must say that after trying it on my shoes? Was not disappointed. So a word of caution to not use it in excess as it is expensive for the price, but works like a charm once you know how to use it. And far better than other products, although there is no comparison.Even while after using fingers to apply, it washes off easily and does not leave any remnants.
Sehr gut
