Spicy, yet still flavorful, not too spicy, not overpowering.I don't use extra salt when I cook; but the vinegar taste makes up for low salt on my food.I have used this hot sauce since the late 80s, when"Uncle Steve's" changed their recipe from a bright, vinegar-y, flavor to a flat, can't taste the vinegar, spicy only recipe. Tabasco is too, too, spicy for me, so I tried "Crystal Louisiana Hot Sauce" & never looked back.I saw another review that claimed they found something in the bottle; that's why I decided to write one. In the over 40 years I've been using Crystal Hot Sauce, I have never been let down by the quality & freshness of this product. I wanted review readers to know that Crystal Hot Sauce is a good quality product.On an unrelated note, when I met my Son-in-law, he realized he had to double up on his hot sauce purchase because we both LOVE Crystal.*\(^~^)/*

Best hot sauce on the planet
This hot sauce has incredible pepper flavour. It's a great level of heat and is an excellent table condiment. After having Crystal you will never buy Frank's again... Ever.
