The product works perfectly. One, it is looks good in any setting. Two, you can easily put on and remove the paper towel roll. Three, It is weighted just right so the holder will never fall over. Four, it does not take up a lot of counter space. Finally, tearing off sheets of paper towel is easy. I am not sure why a few people say that you have pull the paper a certain way to tear off sheets, but this is absolutely not true. No matter what angle you pull, the sheet is will tear off clean and perfectly. Please do not waste your time looking at other holders because they will not match up to this product.

I own quite a few items from OXO. They're awesome. Well made, smooth operating, sharp looking. If there's any drawback, it's that they tend to be a bit pricey.That's what initially gave me pause on this item. The idea of paying $20-25 for a paper towel holder seems kinda nuts. But, after months of aggravation with my select-a-sheet rolls on a standard dispenser, I pulled the trigger (pressed the button?).Normally, I like to give 5-star reviews. I'm happy to say most of the products I've bought through Bolo deserve them. This holder is cool looking and has a neat operation, but it doesn't quite hit the 5-star meter. Let's discuss.First and foremost, It's OXO, which means it has those qualities I mention above. It's finely made, looks great and mostly works well.It's the mostly that loses that final star. Like some other commenters on this item, I found you have to build a "technique" to work the one-handed tear effortlessly. If you don't mind a little effort, that's fine, but I agree with others who say that for $25, it should work seamlessly (no pun intended).I ripped about 15 sheets off for testing various styles. A simple pull may lead to more than one sheet (you can tighten the tension on the spring arm, but then you could just topple your holder. A light pull works best for the select-a-size sheets, but then the next sheet is barely past the spring arm, meaning you either have to use two hands or be especially talented pulling from the top edge of the sheet.I haven't tried this while fully occupied (say, in the middle of cutting vegetables or cleaning dishes), but I am interested in seeing how that less careful pull handles the one-handed solution.Overall, I do like the product as it significantly reduces the multiple spinny sheet pulls from a standard resistance holder, but it's still got some issues with the select-a-size that the OXO brain crew could work together to solve.By the way, it's absolutely perfect for full sheets, so if you use those, then there's that.Good product, just short of great. But I would have preferred (and kind of expected) great for $25

I purchased this to replace Mom's old stand-up paper towel holder. It was the same type as this one, in essence, except that it didn't have the large plate at the end of the arm; it just had a ball. The arm had loosened from years of use, and wasn't holding the roll in place properly. So, I bought this one, and, problem solved. You can tear a sheet off with one hand, no problem. OXO makes good quality products, and this is no exception.

Love this paper towel dispenser. It's heavy enough to stay put while you tear a towel off. The spring-loaded arm holds the towels in place even when the roll gets low. This was a great solution for our family.

What an outstanding paper towel holder! This is the end all and be all of any other paper towel holders out there. Put simply that if you buy this you’ll be so satisfied with its quality and result that you’ll never need to replace or buy another holder again.I’ve used this product for a month now and not only does it firmly hold the paper towel in place, it makes tearing off a single paper towel piece extremely easy, even with one hand (far better than any other holder I’ve ever used). It also has a heavy base, so the holder does not tip over.At $35.67 (at time of purchase) the price does seem a bit high, but rest assured you will be satisfied with your purchase when you get to see this product from OXO in person and use it. Definitely a product that will last a lifetime, so it’s value proposition is fantastic. I highly recommend this product to anyone interested!
