In one of the inaugural titles from the Abbeville Kids imprint, Sophie's family is returning from vacation when her stuffed rabbit, Felix, disappears in a crowded airport. Readers will spot the lost toy on the luggage conveyor depicted in the first of Droop's cheery, busy spreads. As the distressed child goes home, Felix embarks on a whirlwind international tour, communicating with Sophie via five letters (which can be removed from envelopes attached to the pages). After each epistle describes the rabbit's sightseeing adventures in London, Paris, Rome, Cairo, Kenya and New York City, Langen fleshes out Felix's travelogue with additional information about the locales. Though its format obviously recalls the Jolly Postman books, Langen's wordy, occasionally awkward narrative lacks the ingenuity of those works. There are, however, several fetching extras: also tucked into the envelopes are a color snapshot of Felix in front of the Eiffel Tower and a "secret pyramid map" from Egypt; and-when he finally arrives home on Christmas Eve-Felix carries a suitcase containing six travel decals. All ages.

This clever little book was one my 33 year old niece enjoyed as a child. She now reads it to her 3 year old! I had to have a copy, and was fortunate to find it on the Bolo marketplace! Although it was listed as “good” condition, I found it to be nearly new…almost pristine! Every letter from Felix was in tact, no tears or damage to book at all. I would order from this seller again.

I know from having read this book before that it is a fabulous story, but the "Good" condition book that I paid $35 for is in terrible condition. The entire point of Letters For Felix is the LETTERS from Felix. My $35 copy arrived with torn/missing envelopes and NO LETTERS. what a SCAM!!!! I feel so cheated.

I am an art teacher in upstate New York. I was teaching a unit in which I was having my 2nd grade kids create landscape drawing "postcards" about imaginary trips they would be taking over Summer Break. As an introduction to each class period, we would read about one of the places Felix visited.My students loved the pull-out letters and other "mail" included in the story. They really enjoyed following Felix on his short tour of the world. Because of the fragility of the little pieces, it was a book that only I handled - that is the only drawback. It is similar to the Jolly Postman books that way.I would recommend this to teachers and parents alike, though I would suggest saving it for children grades 3 and up. Lots of fun!

My children grew up with this book and I was speaking to my god daughter about it. She had just returned from an overseas school trip and had not taken her much loved teddy with her, who has travelled everywhere with her. She was scared she would lose him, which has happened a couple of times and been miraculously found!! I won't go into Ted's adventures here, but I did tell her about Felix's adventures! I decided that as I had put my children's much loved and worn copy away for them, my youngest now being 16 years of age, that it would be nice for Ronnie, also 16, to have her own copy. After all she knew only too well the adventures a favourite toy could have. I am hoping she will enjoy it as much as our family did.

We love this book! I had seen it years ago and wished I had picked it up then but now that i have a child who loves to read, I had to get it. It is the story of a little girl who loses her favorite toy Felix. He goes around the world and sends her letters sharing his adventures. The letters come in an envelope and are great fun for the child to open up. It is a great way for kids to begin learning about geography and other countries. My child is 3 and loves it. Highly recommend.

My son is reading this book with his Kindergarten class and we decided to have a copy at home so we could follow Felix's progress across the globe. In class the children are learning all about the places Felix is visiting and adding a lot more colour and information to each location as well as stamping each child's self made passport with the stamp of the location. The parents from other countries are also presenting their country to the class as additional locations to add to the passports. My son has loved the experience and comes home every day with facts about the country of the week. He loves the book and has become a huge fan of Ancient Egypt through this book. We love the way the book is written, the illustrations and the envelopes with letters make it a especially interesting for children. We highly recommend this to other parents/children.

Arrived in like brand new condition! Amazing book, included letters and items, perfect for a little boy named Felix!
Delightful classic
Gorgeous book for 5+ years about a bunny who gets lost in suitcases and travels around the world writing letters as he goes. The letters are included in an envelope, which kids love. It is American so the travels and story end up back there. Its a little pricey but worth it. An extended family favourite!
