    I bought this for my 7yo granddaughter who wanted to learn cross stitch. She totally loved it, it was extremely easy to use and she made all of the designs up herself. That was only thing the kit seemed to lack: any designs to use as an aid to learning or as starting points for inspiration. The silks were lovely colours and there was enough to make all of the bookmarks. My granddaughter has progressed to fabric now after learning with these wooden pieces. She totally had a great time making the bookmarks, and I will buy her some more kits like this one, so she can give them as gifts at Christmas to all her school friends. Definitely a great gift for a budding cross stitcher at any age. Definitely worth the money as it was good quality.

    I'm a new learner with cross Stitching and I brought this item to see if I could deal with practice cross Stitching and thanks to this item I have learnt to cross Stitch and make certain things with it like having to get book markers done for my family and friendsI'll buy this item again due to I've found that I've been doing cross Stitching alot better but I'm still learning to cross StitchJust need to make the wood a little more stronger so that it would take pressure when your holding the wood.

    These are very good but as they came in a pack of four i was expecting four needles not two. Luckily i had spare. My brownies did find them a bit tricky but they are very nice when made.

    This wooden cross stitch kit is great for beginner or craft lovers alike. The wooden bookmarks are thin wood with holes in them and you simply use one of the plastic needles supplied to sew the thread through the holes in any pattern you like. There are no specific patterns given which is a shame as you then need to design your own pattern which makes this harder for younger children, but the activity itself is easy and fun to keep you busy for a while. Each bookmark also comes with a piece of ribbon to tie to the top for easy handling.
